COMPLETELY REFITTED AND REMODELLED into an OWNER’S VERSION with new equipment and options at the Catana factory in 2018, under the N.E.O. programme.

Electrical Systems:

In September 2022 the electrical system was upgraded to Lithium LiFePO4 as follows (all products Victron Smart System):

2 x 12.8 volt 330Ah LiFePO4 batteries. Total 660Ah
3 x Lynx distributor 1000 DC
1 x Lynx smart BMS (battery management system)
3 x smart controller MPPT 100/50 (3 controllers to manage port upper solar panels, starboard upper solar panels and forward solar panels)
2 x Orion Tr smart 12/12-30 isolated DC/DC chargers (1 for port and 1 for starboard engine alternators)
Victron Cebro GX monitoring system and smart display (linked by both Bluetooth and WiFi for remote monitoring).

The Victron Energy Multiplus 12 Volt/3000Watt/120Amp Charger/Inverter installed by Catana in 2018 is compatible with the new 2022 system so was not replaced but reprogrammed for LiFePO4 compatibility.

Galley:

Galley area completely updated in 2022 by Catana NEO programme to owners specification, with numerous additional storage cupboards and drawers, and a large galley worktop area
2 x Dometic CRX0080 refrigerators with icebox compartments
Dometic 30 litre freezer located under starboard fwd bunk (highly efficient to minus 17c, can be run off either 12v or 240v system – currently wired for 12v DC system)

Since the refit:

Masthead wind vane/anemometer replaced with new unit May 2026.

Watermaker regularly maintained – pickled with Biocide each time left inactive for over 2 weeks. Annual membrane cleaning and winterisation.
2023 new membranes installed and full service, new O rings and piping replaced by Aquabase approved engineer in Turkey.

Annual service schedule as per Volvo recommendations. Oil changes, filter changes, impellers and alternator belts changed annually. Air filters as per schedule.

Note that saildrive seals might need to be changed this year, although they are in excellent condition.

We added 2 small trickle charge panels for engine batteries.

In 2023 as part of our Lithium battery upgrade programme added a further 6 Sunware 90w panels.

In 2023 replaced AGM house batteries with LiFe 2 x 330 Ah batteries (total 660 Ah). Installed by professional marine electrician to very high standard. Full Victron system including smart battery monitoring DC-DC converters etc.

Note Victron Battery charger and 3Kw inverter new in 2018 reprogrammed for Lithium system.
All new cabling for system including upgraded cables from alternator etc.

In 2023 we installed a 80 metre Ketten Walder Cromox stainless steel anchor chain.
CXA-8mm grade 60 plus (AISI 318LN) – (note high strength steel, maximum load equivalent to 10mm galvanised).
This modification has made a big improvement as the stainless steel chain stows much more efficiently in the anchor locker, no more stuck chain!
